Book One of this trilogy, entitled 'The Recalling of John Arrowsmith' covers the adventures of… wait for it…. John Arrowsmith, a biker who finds himself in a strange world of Elves, Dragons, and other outlandish creatures. The short stories posted here take place after the last book is finished, so if you don’t want to end up confused or reading spoilers, then don’t read them. Though… actually… there aren’t really that many spoilers (unless you don't want to know who lives or dies). I don’t think. Hard to tell at this point; I’ve been working on that book a long time now.
Book III will be available later in the year.

Mychael Black, popular Torquere Press author writes of Book One:
What's a biker, who--along with his monstrosity of a motorcycle--gets thrown into another world, do?
He rolls with it.
... This is one of the most awesome fantasy stories I have ever read. I stayed up ‘til odd hours of the morning, then jumped back on again to finish. The predicaments John finds himself in are funny, but also intriguing. I was drawn wholeheartedly into his tale and when it was done, well, I admit: I emailed Alyx and begged for book 2!
If you like fantasies, then you will absolutely LOVE this one! It has that lighthearted but serious, sweet and comic fairy tale feel to it, while still managing a romance and a plot that leave you clamoring for more. I've been a fan of Alyx's for a while, and this is, by far, her best work yet.
Well if ya can't trust Mycheal then who can ya trust, a talking rat? It's $5.95, and has a real pretty cover by in-house artist Pluto, and best of all if ya print it out and mail it to me, I'll sign it for you!

If you would like to check out other published work of mine, I do have a Taste Test up at Torquere which you can find here!
There is also a fine-print copy of 'A Strange Place in Time' available from Doppleganger Press. This beautiful edition is hand bound in red Japanese silk and has handmade endpapers. Please visit the Doppleganger site for more information on this edition. Book two should be out later this year. |
